More on Taslima

According to an Article in Express India, the Hyderabad police have registered a case against controversial Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen, who was recently attacked by Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen workers in Hyderabad, for allegedly creating ill-feeling among communities.

The writer has been booked under Indian Penal Code Section 153 (A) (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, language etc) on a complaint registered by MIM legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi, police said.

Don't you just love the charge???

On the other hand the police have also registered another case against a leader of a Muslim political party on charges of threatening to kill Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen, who was attacked by his party members.

Very busy police force!!!

So while the police have launched a case against her attackers and herself, some (thank Allah for that!) Muslims leaders have strongly condemned the attack on controversial writer of Bangladesh Taslima Nasreen and remarked it as shameful and barbaric activity.

Another article reports that Taslima Nasreen says her attackers at a book release function in Hyderabad earlier Thursday were intent on killing her, but she would not be cowed down and would continue to write.

Considering her literary talents (or lack thereof ...see here) you can take that as reassurance or a threat ...
