Demystifying Islam

A forum will be held in Bendigo to help educate people about the Islamic faith.

Ms Chopra, a former resident of Bendigo, says she hopes the forum will dispel some of the misconceptions that people hold about Muslims and Islam.

Ms Chopra says 'I always say that it's hard to sum up one of the world's major faiths in an hour or less. This is a stepping stone, I believe, in the right direction in demystifying the misconceptions and beginning dialogue. If I can just get people thinking and talking and correcting their misconceptions- if I can just change one person's negativity and misinformation, then I'll have achieved something.'
